From San Francisco
Richmond Kings
Blues and Rock and Roll
Al Morrow on guitar/vocals. Al has been playing in bands since his early teens. Since escaping from upstate New York in the late 70s, he has done duty in several San Francisco bands, including the Tacks, a 17-year stint with Johnny Kool & the Rattlesnakes, and some time with Roy Loney and the Phantom Movers. The Snakes also had a nice run as Loneys' backing band. Al has also played with many members of the Flamin' Groovies along the way. his influences include Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, the Blues greats Jeff Beck, and Alvin Lee. Although he has huge shoes to fill, Al is a welcome new addition to the rockin' Richmond Kings.
Mark Dunwoody is on Piano, Organ and Vocals. Mark's background is all local: he was one of the founding members of Kid Courage, he played through San Francisco's New Wave and Punk era. He has also toured and recorded with the Flaming Groovies.
On second Guitar, Slide, Harp and Vocals is John Thomas (JT). Originally from Mississippi, he was born and raised on the real Delta Blues and Chuck Berry. JT and Rich played and performed together in Tumblin' Dice from 1995-2000.
Dan Smith aka Danno holds down the bottom on Bass Guitar. Danno was one of the founding members of the Rhythm and Blues / Rock and Roll group, The Rattle Cans, local heroes of the SF bar scene.
Finally on Drums and Vocals, Rich Gold. His background reads like the who's who of Rock and Blues: he played in Stillwater in the 1970's, Blow Up" and Sixth Finger in the 1980's, Tumblin' Dice, Big Daddy from Cincinnati South Park Blues Band and Ron Thompson" in the 1990's. He formed Richmond Kings in 2001.
